The Rotary Club of Curepipe is the second Rotary Club established in Mauritius. The Rotary Club of Curepipe was chartered on 7th October 1974 by a dynamic group of founder members and history notes tell us how committed they were and how diligently they accomplished their mission as Rotarians. Today members of the club are pursuing this noble mission.

Majority of club members are senior Rotarians with long experience
Members are highly qualified professionals in various fields; namely in Engineering, Architecture, Law, Administration, Management, Human Resources, Communication, Finance,….
Club Weaknesses
Large number of members are above sixty years of age
Only 50 to 60% of members do actively participate in implementation of projects
35% of club members are above 70 years.
Opportunities
Members are well connected professionally and can thus advise or support the community
Given the age group and professional connections of members, fund raising is not difficult.
Challenges
Increasing gap between rich and poor
Disappearance of the middle class as a strata of the population, hence indicating an increase in the lower level of the population strata.
Increase in illiteracy rate.
Health problem
Improvement in water saving and quality and the living environment
Values and civism in society

Aiming at achieving gender balance
Initiate such actions to motivate and retain members
Encourage members to familiarize themselves with new technologies in order to take advantage of the R.I and District information system

Finding sponsors for specific projects (all year round)
Holding monthly Board meeting to monitor progress of club
Monthly monitoring of expenses on projects and monitoring variation between estimates and expenditure
