Vision & Strategic Plan

The Vision of the Rotary Club of Curepipe is to sustainably enhance the living environment of the fellow citizens of Curepipe.

Rotary Strategic Plan Model

  • Prepare vision statement
  • Align vision statement with club’s current conditions
  • Set priorities to achieve vision
  • List 3 to 5 yearly goals to support priorities
  • Track the club’s new strategic plan

Club Strength

  1. Majority of club members are senior Rotarians with long experience
  2. Members are highly qualified professionals in various fields; namely in Engineering, Architecture, Law, Administration, Management, Human Resoures, Communication, Finance,….

Club Weaknesses

  1. Large number of members are above sixty years of age
  2. Only 50 to 60% of members do actively participate in implementation of projects
  3. 35% of club members are above 70 years.

Opportunities

  1. Members are well connected professionally and can thus advise or support the community
  2. Given the age group and professional connections of members, fund raising is not difficult.

Challenges

  1. Increasing gap between rich and poor
  2. Disappearance of the middle class as a strata of the population, hence indicating an increase in the lower level of the population strata.
  3. Increase in illiteracy rate.
  4. Health problem
  5. Improvement in water saving and quality and the living environment
  6. Values and civism in society

Where do you want to be?

  • Want to have at least 50% of members below 50 Years
  • Achieve a club membership of 50
  • Aiming at achieving gender balance
  • Initiate such actions to motivate and retain members
  • Encourage members to familiarize themselves with new technologies in order to take advantage of the R.I and District information system

How are you doing?

  • Organising annual fund raising activities ( organisation takes 3 months)
  • Finding sponsors for specific projects (all year round)
  • Holding monthly Board meeting to monitor progress of club
  • Monthly monitoring of expenses on projects and monitoring variation between estimates and expenditure
  • Annual review on status of projects
